  5. In the dual interests of advancing math education and promoting
  6. its products, effective with the release of Version 2.0, JUST FOR
  7. ME SOFTWARE, INC. announces that MATH CHALLENGE, its popular
  8. shareware program for teaching children their math tables, can
  9. now be used without fee in its unmodified state on any computer
  10. owned by a school system, public, private, or parochial.

  12. When using this program in a school system, the only requirement
  13. is that JUST FOR ME SOFTWARE be notified of the usage with a
  14. letter on official school system stationery.
  15.  
  16. John Koszewnik, President of JUST FOR ME SOFTWARE cites his
  17. rationale for this action as follows:
  18.    "For some time now, shareware products have been growing
  19.     in popularity and quality, to the point where they
  20.     are now as good or better than their commercial
  21.     equivalents.  I am certain that users of MATH CHALLENGE
  22.     will find it to be superior to anything else available.
  23.     Nevertheless, many people remain unaware of shareware's
  24.     potential.  This action is intended to demonstrate the
  25.     quality and value of such products, particularly important
  26.     in these times of financial constraints within schools."

  28. MATH CHALLENGE program features include:
  29.   -- Simple user interface -- with full mouse support for
  30.      children input
  31.   -- Problems individualized to the pace of each student.
  32.   -- Personalized text encouragement for correct answers 
  33.      (MATH CHALLENGE can accommodate up to 49 students in
  34.      one directory).
  35.   -- Enticing VGA animal graphics with true photographic quality.
  36.   -- Color animation and interesting sound effects.
  37.   -- Ability to toggle sound on and off.
  38.   -- Ability to "save progress" -- and return to program later.

  40. Please note that individuals using this program on their home
  41. computers must still register their program if they use it beyond
  42. a free 30 day trial day period regardless of whether or not it is
  43. used freely at their school.

  45. John Koszewnik elaborates:
  46.    "I sincerely hope that other shareware authors will follow
  47.     our example and release their products without fee for use
  48.     in school systems.  This will spread the word about shareware
  49.     while providing a partial solution to the budget crises
  50.     facing many of today's school systems."

  64. MATH CHALLENGE, a popular educational software program for
  65. children, can now be used without fee on any computer owned by
  66. school systems, public, private, or parochial.  This action is
  67. intended to help school system cope with limited finances, as
  68. well as promote shareware products.  MATH CHALLENGE version 2.0
  69. is available in the SOFTWARE-TO-GO section of Compuserve's
  70. EDFORUM.
